Women (including myself) spend so much time worrying about their face and how it’s aging that they sometimes neglect the rest of their body. While your face ages quickly, so do your neck and hands. There are all sorts of treatments to turn back the clock on your face, but your options are much more limited when it comes to your neck, and an “old” neck is a dead giveaway of your age. Have you noticed that a lot of older celebrities have flawless faces, but then their necks are wrinkled and saggy? Author Nora Ephron has an appropriately titled book I Feel Bad About My Neck in which she humorously writes about her neck being a tell-tale sign of her age. Botox to relax bands in your neck, and Thermage and Laser Skin Tightening have some results for helping your neck’s appearance, as do surgical neck lifts, but prevention is also key to defying your age later in life.
Sunscreen and Anti-aging skin care
No matter what we do, we are still going to age, but sunscreen goes a long way in preventing sun spots, sagging, and crinkling. I apply sunscreen on my neck every day, as well as on my hands. Your hands are also big age giveaways. Sun, age, and liver spots are the most common signs of aging on our hands, so again sunscreen is key! At least with your hands, if you have lighter skin, you can get Photo facials that will do a good job at removing the spots (as well as small spider veins).
If you are already seeing the signs of aging on your neck, you can use the same anti-aging products on your neck that you use on your face - products with Retinols and Retinoids, Antioxidants, and Peptides can all help with the appearance of your neck.

great advice! I actually extend my skincare down to my chest as well. The one problem I have with sunscreening my hands is that I am washing them all day and I have not found a handcream with sunscreen that I like.

Love your blog. Excellent information. Nora E.’s book is toooo funny. I feel bad about my neck, too, but I love your advice about putting the anti-aging creams on it. Thanks!
