About:
My name is Jeni and I started Savvy Skin to let people know what I’ve personally discovered in my search for “perfect” skin. While I have no formal training in the skincare field, I’ve spent the past 5 years researching skincare in my spare time via books, magazines, and internet research. I am a skeptic, so I need to test something first before I believe it actually works. I’m also hoping to learn even more about skincare as new discoveries are made in the fields of aging and beauty.

I started my obsession with skincare because at age 25 because I was already developing wrinkles! I thought I had at least another 10 years before I’d have to deal with them. I soon realized that poor genes, and a childhood spent in the hot sun of Hawaii was taking an early toll on my skin. Then when I was 28, I suddenly developed relatively bad acne. While I had it as a teenager, it was back, and much worse than before. That started me on a quest to clear my skin, and along the way I sought out many Dermatologists, none of whom really helped me much. After a lot of research and trial and error, I was finally able to get rid of the acne, and I have no more wrinkles now than I did at age 25!

I’m currently 32, and live in Las Vegas, probably one of the worst cities to live in for healthy skin, due to the extreme hot and dry climate! While I have a background in photography and web design, for the past year I’ve worked at a Medical Spa as a Spa Coordinator. I’ve been able to see first-hand how well various treatments such as Botox, Restylane, Photo Facials, Chemical Peels, Microdermabrasion, LipoDissolve, and Laser Hair Removal actually work. I’ve tried most of the treatments myself, and have several “insider” tips to these various treatments.

ps. The picture of me is unretouched, except I cheated and whitened my eyes a bit. But I didn’t touch my skin…
