Do not waste your money on this! I have tried many different lines of skin care products, and this product is, without a doubt, the WORST moisturizer I have ever used. It is difficult to put on. It leaves a glossy, greasy sheen that never disappears even after several hours. The only way to get rid of that horrific sheen is to wear face powder, which is not something I want to do every day.

I am not a young woman, so one would think that the product would be absorbed easily into my skin, but it doesn't. It stays on top of my skin like a greasy mess. I SWITCHED to using the Vitamin Enhanced Moisturizer from the Made From Earth skincare line of products. It moisturizes my skin, and it is absorbed easily into my skin - I see a major difference in how healthy my skin looks with the Vitamin Enhanced Moisturizer.

I have oily skin and Crème la Mer works great! I warm the cream between my fingertips before I massage it in to my skin. Without warming it in my fingertips it is very greasy.

SILKY FACE SORBET ,I sell this creme at our local farmers market , regional market , home parties, and on my website. I can't keep this in stock. The ingredients are scientifically proven to help skin rejgeneration ,circulation , and skin elasticity. People swear it just as good if not better than Creme de le Mer. It is certainly cheaper!!

I've tried about everyting. Then friend of mine who lives in NYC told me about Le Mer. I bought mine on Ebay. THe 1 oz was 94.00 + shipping (5.85). Yes expensive, but it lasted me about 3 months. You dont have to use much. And I do beleive it made a difference in my complexion. I am 41. My skin was firmer, with ess visible lines and pores, moisturized very well. I love this cream. But I think I may try the lotion next, I am curious about its texture and if it goes on differently than the cream.

Creme de le mer is great. I am on the "band wagon"!!!

I can see that people either love it or not impressed it. I personally love it. I suffered from acne and marks but after using it (just a VERY SMALL amount, rub it in between your fingers and pat it on the face) my skin has transformed. I initally have tiny pimples that come out when I first start using it but then they all went away and I don't get any pimples. My acne marks seemed to have diminished. It worked really well for me. Oh, and I do have oily skin. The La Mer lotion works better in the summer because it's not as thick.

I can't believe that people still buying into this nonsense about mineral oil and glycerine is bad for your skin. Mineral oil is the purest oil there is and glycerine is the best skin healer there is. Petrolatum (vaseline) for example is the best product you can put onto chapped hand and feet over night. Your skin is just about perfect the next morning.
By the way, I am a cosmetic scientist for the past 35 years.

Fact - Creme de le Mer contains Mineral Oil, Petroleum and Glycerin.

Fact - Mineral Oil is used at 90-100%. It is in fact classified as hazardous. It irritates the skin, eyes and respiratory tract. It is in fact combustible in its liquid and vapour form. It can cause dermatitis with people who have sensitive skin, (or skin made sensitive due to stress, exposure to toxins, poor diet, etc) and can create hypersensitivity through prolonged use.
It is also flammable.
It is odorless and is insoluble in water, therefore is a popular stabiliser in both commercial AND expensive designer cosmetics and skin care.
In conjunction to this, Mineroil Oil coats your skin in a second layer that seemingly protects but in fact does not allow the skin to breathe naturally as it should. Therefore it will in fact increase the likelihood of blocked pores, amongst other things.

Petroleum is pretty self explanatory; carbon based and also produces many synthetic preservatives such as BHT,BHA and TBHQ and hydrocarbons such as hexane, also commonly used in skin care and cosmetics due to its ability to help provide "shelf life" for the product. Since when was putting carbon (ie the stuff you put in your car and the stuff that makes all the white buildings in town black and clogs your pores) - good to put on your skin.

Glycerin is closely related to petroleum and is used as a stabiliser. There are in fact animal and plant based glycerins out there.

Enough said.

I believe this is enough for the intelligent reader who wants to look after their skin!

An intelligent approach to your diet, exercise, lots of clean filtered water (while cutting down on alcohol, caffeine, white flour and refined sugars), green tea, detoxiyfying herbs and natural organic biodynamic skincare products will do a lot more for you than all these chemicals that will simply "preserve" you for only so long.

Weleda makes exceptional chemical free products and are available wordwide. There are also many other organic, biodynamic skincare alternatives out there that are around the same price range and less expensive, than Creme de le Mer!

Don't be fooled into using cheaper brands such as Nivea either, Nivea uses the exact same synthetic ingredients, solvents, parabens and synthetic fragrances as Creme de le Mer and the like.

If you want good skin, take responsibility for yourself!

Maybe you can return the Creme de la Mer? I'm actually not exactly sure what the Algae Extract is supposed to do. Since I have dry skin, I think the Creme de la Mer would actually work really well on me to hydrate it, but for the money, I think the Hydropeptide would give you much better results when it comes to preventing wrinkles.
