I disagree with this post, esp the part "Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion contains Mineral Oil, which is also why I say it’s “controversial.” I’ll write more about Mineral Oil later, but as I wrote in my how to prevent Cosmetic Acne post, Mineral Oil doesn’t clog pores."
This is completely untrue. As for the other ingredients? Consumers need more awareness! Here is some info about just some of the listed ingredients:
- Mineral Oil Mix of refined liquid hydrocarbons derived from petroleum. Baby oil coats skin like plastic wrap impeding ability for skin to breathe.

- Propylene Glycol Surfactant (found in anti-freeze). No difference in PG found in antifreeze and used in personal care products. Breaks down protein and cellular structure. Implicated in brain, liver, kidney abnormalities. Can cause dry skin, rashes and damage to skin surface.

- Methylparaben and propylparaben - BOTH in this moisturiser! are the most commonly used preservatives. Sometimes the "full house" of parabens is listed as "mixed parabens". Now found whole in tumours particular breast tumours.

Simply appalling what they add. And this is just ONE of the THREE step process - imagine what is in the rest!

I am very prone to breakouts and cosmetic acne, and am a skin therapist. i have done lots of research on comedogenic ingredients and not a fan of clinique products. I could go on about mineral oil all night, but will try to keep it short. Cosmetic mineral oil is mildly comedogenic, as it leaves a film on the skin which stops it breathing and excreting properly, this is how it causes congestion on your skin, I personally screen everything for mineral oil and its derivatives, which just to confuse you are called different things, petrolatum, liquidum paraffinum, isoparaffin 9-11. Also the lanolin alcohol is comedogenic. I wouldn't touch it with a barge pole! They only put them in the formulation as they are cheap! but for the customer it isn't at all beneficial.

I recently switched from Olay Total Effects to the old school hydrating beauty fluid which also contains mineral oil. I also considered picking up the Dramatically Different lotion, for fun.

Yeah that's why I'm surprised the lotion is so popular since it doesn't contain antioxidants or anything special, and it's probably greasy on most people. For a product with peptides, I like Olay Regenerist Deep Hydrating Regenerating Cream. It goes on well and doesn't cause me to breakout, but it's not that hydrating, so I sometimes put on another moisturizer over it. Coincidently, a few months back, Consumer Reports did a report on skin creams, and this got the best review, since users actually saw some improvement in their fine lines/wrinkles.

Seems like a pretty basic product. Most of the stuff I have has like 50 ingredients. What do you recommend with peptides?
