Now instead of having to go to the tanning salon to get a spray tan, you can do it in the comfort of your own home!
L’Oreal Sublime Bronze ProPerfect Airbrush
I’ve never gotten a tan-in-a-can before, so using this product was new for me. According to the directions, you are supposed to spray the product continuously at arm’s length, and you don’t need to rub it in. Just spray, wait a few minutes, get dressed, and you are done. The color is supposed to being to develop in less than an hour.
Pros
I’ve used this product every day for a week, and there are a few things I really like about it. It smells better than every other self-tanner I’ve used. It smells exactly like the Sublime Bronze Gelee that I normally use, and it has a nice light pleasant scent. The product dries really quickly, and it doesn’t contain alcohol, so it doesn’t dry my skin out very much. It’s super fast and easy to use, however it’s not possible to reach every place on my body, so I mostly used it on my arms and legs.
Cons
The main problem I had with the Sublime Bronze ProPerfect Airbrush was that it didn’t do much. You are supposed to use it every day until you reach your desired color, and then maintain the results by using it once or twice a week. I really didn’t get that much darker after the week was up. Maybe I just didn’t use enough of the product? The good news is that I had almost no streaking. I did have a streak on my arm, and I think the key is to hold the product as far away from you as possible. If you do end up with any wet patches, just lightly rub them in. If I had used more of the product, I wonder if the results would have been better. But then the chances of streaking or unevenness would have increased.
The verdict
If using an airbrush tanning product intrigues you, then it’s definitely worth trying. Like any self-tanner, practice makes perfect, so once you get the hang of it, your results should get better. Since I have dry skin, after I used this product, I waited a while and then applied a moisturizer over it. Because of my need for a moisturizer, I’m going to stick with my Sublime Bronze Gelee, mixed with a moisturizer. I also feel like I have a bit more control of the product when I’m using a gel/lotion, rather than a spray, since I can tell exactly what areas I’ve covered.

Thanks for the review! It’s always so hard to find a great at-home self-tanner. I love Coppertone’s Gradual Tan, for example, but its in lotion form so I can’t get it on my back without help. Hopefully they’ll create a great airbrush tanner that doesn’t cost a fortune! Love the blog, by the way.

Anything to avoid the scary, scary spray tan in closet. Scares me every time.

I agree, the product is really light and doesn’t tan much, but on the other hand it gave me a pretty sun kissed look…of course I was pretty pale…

The best self tanner and bronzer that I have used is Too Faced “Tanning Bed in a Tube”. It’s very moisturizing and doesn’t streak.

Airbrush tan in can seemed so promising, I’m sorry to hear it didn’t do much. I am just about getting as pale as can be so I need *something* to get me past my lovely casper look :) I may try it anyways because even a subtle hint of color would be nice.

Really?!?! I don’t believe this review at all. I’ve been using it for a few DAYS and people cannot believe how naturally tan and dark I am already! Don’t believe all opinions and try it for yourself! It is a great product, honestly.

So, I am like Casper. So pale I”m almost clear. I just put this on for the first time and already could tell a difference. It made me slightly bronzed, and after a few minutes I was dry. I have been sitting here watching tv, and I am getting darker. I’m going to keep this up for a while and see if it keeps working. No streaks so far so fingers crossed. It smells good too so that’s always a plus. I don’t believe in tanning beds because of it being SO bad for your skin, so hopefully this will work. Otherwise, I will just have to be pasty. :)

When I find a product that really works, I feel obligated to leave a review. I am a product junky. Haircare products, skin creams, teeth whiteners you name it, I have it or have tried it. I also, am the first, who will run out, and buy, test the latest & so called greatest ” NEW” innovation out on the market. So with that being said I have to give Loreal Sublime air brush tanner a BIG thumbs up. *****FIVE STARS***** I have tried numerous self tanners, a few worked “OKAY”, but most left me orange & streaky. Loreal Sublime however, is a woman’s dream come true. Especially, if like me, you don’t sunbathe, or, go to tanning salons because of skin damage. This product works wonders ” TRUST ME” but you must, first exfoliate & shave. I put a little baby oil, in my bath water, because dry skin doesn’t tan well. Spray the mist, at arms length all over the body. I saturated myself with it, even on my feet, hands, elbows, knees places that usually don’t tan well, and I was reluctant, thinking I was going to be a orange, patchy mess, but after an hour ( which is when you will start seeing the full results) I was SUPER AMAZED!!!!!!!! I have a BEAUTIFUL looking, just back from a tropical island tan. NO streaks, NO orange spots, not even on my knees, elbows. I am **** BLOWN AWAY***** with this product. I would reccomend it to ALL my friends. No matter your skin tone it WILL work if done correctly. Plus, to those who said, it didn’t do much, again, don’t be afraid of using to much. Really, spray on thick with quick, even strokes. You probably didn’t use enough. Another tip is DO NOT rub the product into your skin, just spray, & make sure you let it dry, before dressing. If your not as tan as you want, to be, the first time, put it on again the next day. I achieved a PERFECT dark, deep color, upon applying one time. Another tip, keep your newly tanned skin, moisturized, with a good cream it makes it glow & healthy looking, and even deepens the color. Plus, winter weather can wreak havoc on our skin, so keep it,
well hydrated & you will have a beautiful, gleaming healthy looking tan. KUDOS to you LOREAL, what a GREAT PRODUCT. LOVE****LOVE****LOVE**** IT!!!!!!! Thank-You!!
Sincerely, Nikki -:)
