Aside for my obsession with skin care, shopping is probably my other favorite topic to think about, and there’s nothing better than shopping for skin care products! A few weeks ago, I was lucky enough to visit the Mall Of America in Bloomington, Minnesota, the biggest mall in the country! I was there 8 years ago, and this time around I tied my previous record, and shopped for 7 hours straight, without taking a break! I ran out of time for the rollercoasters, and missed watching Rascal Flatts, who were doing a free performance when I was there.
Here are all of the skin care and beauty stores you can visit when you make your journey to the biggest mall in the United States:
QVC Store- It may not make sense, but you can do home-shopping at the mall! The store carries Philosophy, Bare Escentuals, and the other most popular skin care and makeup lines featured on the TV channel.
Bare Escentuals- We don’t have these stores in Las Vegas, so this was my first time visiting this cult-status mineral makeup line’s store. This store was packed, and obviously the company knows what they’re doing when it comes to marketing their brand!
The other skin care stores at the Mall of America include Sephora, MAC Cosmetics, Aveda, Bath & Body Works, L’Occitane, Origins, Victoria’s Secret Beauty, Crabtree & Evelyn, The Body Shop, and MN Soap Store. And of course the anchor stores all have their beauty departments: Bloomingdale’s, Macy’s and Nordstrom. The only thing missing from the mall is a Medical Spa!
What are your favorite malls? Aside from the Mall Of America, I love Ala Moana in Honolulu, and Fashion Valley in San Diego.

I haven’t been to many good malls, but the Mall of America is so much fun, I love the QVC store – I like looking at the jewelry and trying it on before I buy it.
I also love looking at all of the beauty stores!

What do you think about the new neutragena sunblocks with the helioplex formula, is it any good?

Sasha,
I briefly mention the Helioplex sunscreens here: http://www.savvyskin.com/the-best-sunscreen-and-sunblock . I tried the Neutrogena sunscreens right before they changed them to Helioplex, and they worked horribly for me – they made my skin feel hot and like it was burning, and I got visibly tan and freckled with them on. I have not tried the Helioplex version of the sunscreen, so I can’t say if it’s good or not. I personally would stick to a sunscreen with zinc oxide as its main ingredient, but all the research says sunscreens with zinc oxide, titanium dioxide, avobenzene/helioplex, or mexoryl are all good. I guess I should try Helioplex to know for sure. I would do a side-by-side comparison on my legs, but now that it’s cold, I’m not sure when I’ll be able to do it!

Ala Moana is a great mall but the Royal Hawaiian Center http://www.royalhawaiiancenter.com in Waikiki has revitalized itself and making some big news…
