Whole Foods Market doesn’t just sell groceries – they have a Whole Body department in their stores that has natural cosmetics, hair and body products, and they even sell mineral makeup. Mineral Fusion is their exclusive mineral makeup line. As part of their “Be Good To Your Whole Body” campaign, during the month of October, they are offering a “fresh face starter kit” by Mineral Fusion that sells for $20 (a $120.00 value). A portion of the money will go toward Pink United, a non-profit organization that supports the fight against breast cancer.
I will definitely be going to my local Whole Foods soon to check out their latest makeup and skin care products (and food of course). There’s a 10 minute podcast that you can watch which shows you a Mineral Fusion makeover. In the video, makeup artist Jen Gaum applies a hydrating mist, eye primer and eye makeup, mascara, blush, a lip tint, mineral foundation, and a setting powder to the model.
Mineral Fusion says that their ingredients won’t clog pores or cause acne. I wasn’t able to find the ingredients of the foundation, but generally mineral makeup won’t make acne-prone skin worse. The products also contain antioxidants, no parabens, and they have a UVA/UVB SPF of 18. I personally would wear a zinc oxide-based sunscreen under the mineral makeup to achieve a higher SPF, since I like an extreme amount of sun protection on my face. The products are also not tested on animals.
You can see if there’s a Whole Foods near you, and some of the stores are doing in-store makeovers this month. Let me know if you’ve tried this product line!
