I suggest NO ONE Try MURAD Acne Complex.. I got dooped into ordering this and was the biggest mistake of my life. I had mild acne and with the stress of planning my wedding i just happend to break out a bit more. I was stupid to try a new product just a few months before the big day but i did, At first it was wow my skin is clearing up and it looks beautiful and withing 3 days POOF my broke out more then i ever had, Called Murad they say its the purging stage fine i kept using as followed a month later it only got worst and my skin hated me and everyone around me noticed IT Burned my skin felt like a layer of it was burnt, went to the Derm only to find out i had an overall burn on my face WTF i've never ever had a product hurt me the way it did thank god i had enough time between this and the wedding so i went back to my basic cleansing and mosturizing before ever trying and it took me over a month and a half for my skin to calm down , recovering from blotchy redness and painnnnnn!!!!

So, GET THIS......I just found your blog after 'googling' the following: algae extract + acne + MURAD. That's right, at long last I thought my research of all things anti-acne was complete when I found the Murad system. I have literally tried nearly every brand carried by Sephora and am constantly researching what could be causing my sudden outbreak of cystic acne at age 25. This weekend I stumbled upon a list similar to your 'How to prevent Cosmetic Acne' and found that the 6th ingredient listed in Murad's Clarifying Toner (which coicidently I use 2 x's a day, err, until now) is ALGAE EXTRACT, which scores a whopping 5 comedogenic value. I feel like I've been tricked, played for a fool, thrown under the bus....you catch my drift. Thanks for all your helpful info!

I have to say that selling skin care products via an informacial is a bit strange.

It will be interesting to see how the compete versus proactive.

That's very interesting. You would think years and years of research about these harmful ingredients would wake people up!

I took your advice from a post a while ago and purchased some of the Paula's Choice skincare.. it shipped super fast and these last few days since I've started using them have been great. I've seen a huge different in my skin texture and my breakouts are clearing up. Thanks so much!

I haven't used Murad because I usually do home peels once a week -or so. It really is too bad there isn't a sunscreen in the moisturizer because I was going to suggest this product to a frend of mine who is a little squeamish about doing her own peels.

I love your blog. Good post on Murad. Thankfully I don't have an acne problem, but the ingredient list sounds top of the line.

You've done a great review! I think this emphasizes more than ever that we need to not only read the labels, but understand the effect that these ingredients have on our skin.
