If you have dry, chapped hands, have you tried Neutrogena Norwegian Formula Hand Cream? Since I’ve been living in a dry climate, I have had terribly dry hands, and I’ve tried probably 10 different hand creams, none of which worked well, or lasted more than 10 minutes. A few years ago I bought a little travel size of the Neutrogena Hand Cream, and it was the best thing ever! It makes your hands really soft, and it coats them a bit, so that it actually stays on, so you don’t need to reapply constantly. It doesn’t have any anti-aging properties in it, so it’s basically just for curing your dry hands! By the way, if you know where I can get the travel size ones, let me know, since I bought 5 of them on the East Coast and am almost out.
Hand Cream for your face?
One day I was out and it was super windy and the skin under my eyes was totally parched, and all I had in my bag was the Hand Cream, and I wondered what would happen if I used it on my face… Guess what - it works great to moisturize dry skin! I just use it under my eyes, though, and not usually on my whole face. It doesn’t make your face shiny at all.
The ingredients will not cause acne, or worsen acne: Purified Water, Glycerin, Cetearyl Alcohol, Stearic Acid, Sodium Cetearyl Sulfate, Methylparaben, Propylparaben, Dilauryl Thiodipropionate, Sodium Sulfate, Fragrance. You can also get it in a fragrance-free formula! Best part - it’s only like $4 for a full-size tube!

Back when I was working as an RN I used to get super dry hands from washing and scrubbing them all the time. I used to use this Crab Tree and Evelyn Gardeners Hand Cream. It was super creamy and non greasy. Another really good one is by L’Occitane and is just called Creme Mains or Hand Cream. It has 20% Shea butter so it’s very rich and moisturizes very well.

Oooh! I’ve been looking for a good hand cream. I get horrible hangnails and no lotion I’ve used so far has worked. I’m excited to try this.

Way back in the day the 1970’s when nursing in london this was a staple in sisters ( head nurse ) office for all her nursing staff to help themselves to. Since then I haven’t been without. This product is the best out on the market for dry skin not only for hands but also on legs and as you mentioned under eye as well.

I’ve used this but it’s too thick for me during the day, though it’s great at night. Thicker lotions tend to sit on top of my skin for a long time without soaking in, but I’m glad it worked well for you!

Nice! I love when an easily available product is multi-purpose and effective. Funny how we can overlook the inexpensive but useful products in the quest for perfect (and often pricey) skincare!

I love your blog, great topics and very in depth reviews. Now about Neutrogena, I am in love with their lotions. I have severely dry skin due to the desert climate of Arizona and this stuff rocks.

I work in a busy kitchen enviroment where I am constantly washing my hands. I used to use the Neutrogena original formula, but it was too heavy and I had a hard time putting gloves on afterward. Have you tried the newer formula? It absorbs faster and is just as moisturizing as the original.

YES this stuff works!!! We used to wash our hands so much while working in lab, but one tiny drop of Neutrogena would keep my hands soft. I got everybody else in my lab to use it, hehe.

I’m always looking for a good hand cream…my hands drink it up! I recently found the new Nivea one, which is good, but I’m definitely going to try the Neutrogena cream now, after reading your post.

I have tried this product and it is wonderful. What I have been using lately is “Vaseline Deep Moisture CREAMY Formula”. It goes for about $3.99 a tube and I have found it to be non-comedogenic. When I feel dry, it works great for parched feet and I have put it all over my face at night when I need a break from my Renova. It has become my favorite intense cream for really dry skin. It is so mild I have also used it post-chemical peel and it soothes my skin without any reactions.
