Olay Regenerist Deep Hydration Regenerating Cream

· Comments(3)

olayOlay Regenerist Deep Hydration Regenerating Creamis a product I’ve been using for a few years (it used to be called Perfecting Cream), and I really like it for several reasons. It doesn’t cause breakouts, which is great. However, I did use the serum version once, and it caused me to get a rash. The serum contains more peptides, though, so it is a great option if you don’t get a rash from it! The Olay cream also got picked as the best “wrinkle cream” last year in a report done by Consumer Reports. The magazine did a study where they had women use all sorts of different creams (including super expensive ones) and they took before and after closeup photos after a month or two. The Olay cream is the only one that showed a visible improvement in the wrinkles and texture of the model’s skin! Woot! I felt so smart when that report came out!!!

The cream contains peptides, which are supposed to stimulate collagen production. Its other ingredients are supposed to calm inflammation in your skin, and improve the texture of your skin. I really have seen an improvement in my skin since I’ve been using the cream. Here’s the only problem….I started using it at the same time that I started using Differin (a prescription acne and wrinkle gel), so it’s difficult to know which product to attribute to the improvement in my skin. I also started using the cream at the tail end of my major bout with acne, and had experiemented with all sorts of different products while using this cream.

While it’s deemed a moisturizer (and even has Deep Hydration in its name) it’s not a very heavy moisturizer, nor extremely moisturizing. It’s good for normal skin, and if you have super dry skin, you might want to use this, and put another moisturizer over it (which I do sometimes). If you use this in the day time, make sure to also use a sunscreen. At $15-19, I think this cream is worth trying. It’s a little pricey for a drugstore item, but it may just work better than a lot of super expensive department store products! I still recommend using a good retinol product as well, but this is a great daily moisturizer.

I agree with you about the serum… I bought it a couple of years ago when it first came out and it made me break out with little spots. It was weird since I usually don’t have any reactions at all, but there you go. I think it was just too silicone-heavy. I need to try the cream though.

    Hey Jeni,

I’m using the serum for months now and so far it’s been ok to my skin, no spots yet. I hope I don’t jinx myself now. What is your take of the Olay Regenerist UV perfecting cream? Is it the same as the Deep Hydrationg Regenerating Cream?

This is a super product! I’ve used it for almost a year and see a great improvement in my skin, less wrinkle lines and softer skin.
