Anyone who says that the ill health effects are made up and that we have been brainwashed is obviously so deeply addicted and affected by the chemicals that they cannot see the horrible effects. I was at a friends house this weekend and her boyfriend smokes. By the end of the weekend my throat was tickling, my skin, lips and hair were dry and I have been wheezing and sneezing nonstop. I doubt that every allergy doctor and lung speacialist, dermotalogist, dentist, and scientist is simply conspiring against the tobacco companies. I try to be polite to smokers but they are not polite to other people. I would not go around spraying stinky perfume in front of other people even if I liked the perfume. I am more militant also as an exsmoker because i quit and am suffering with lung problems 7 years later! 7 freaken years. and was it worth it? absolutely not. i tell myself all the time how stupid it was to start smoking as a teen. i ruined my vocals. i had a beautiful singing voice. its coming back slowly. needs more time though. I have to take advair everyday or i cant breathe. i have allergies out the wazoo. my boyfriend is trying to quit. he smoked since 11 and is 25 now. he is now having breathing problems. cant work in the heat and even exhaust makes him have attacks. smokers hate nonsmokers and never want to hear them or see them. the hate spews out from them just as much as it does from us towards them. they are drug addicts and drug addicts cannot hear you. they lose the inability to think for themselves. they hear the drug. their bodies hear the drug calling. its like a demon inside them. a needy one in fact. I do not mind if others will decide to smoke as long as you keep it away from me. why should i have to creep around in my life in public places because you made a choice to have that habit. There is a direct coralation to secondhand smoke and cancer. When you smoke outside and come inside to your loved ones, you still have nicotine on your clothes, hands and hair and make them sick. they then are dosed with nicotine. Hows about a little nicotine with that hug for your child? Secondhand smoke can linger for up to two hours in aplace. imagine that. So people can get sick so easily. It is so angering and disgusting. People smoke in the bathroom at my work and my eyes burn and water and i sneeze and wheeze. before i went to bar to hang with my friends i had to take two benedryl pills in order to sit there or sit there with blood shot eyes after three minutes and sneeze 40 times and end up being miserable. Again Darwin in practice here. people will knock out the bad genes and the good ones evolve and move forward. Except that a lot of the population will be going i suppose. I think it is about time the government does something good like this. They raise my taxes to live so why not let me live like i should be able to? healthy and free to live with my choices not force others on me. i have the same feeling. Beer is actually healthy in moderation. just ONE cigarette smoked is FAR WORSE than breathing the air on a very bad smog day. Yes, did my research big time. If they ban smoking or sell it, most smokers will do anything to smuggle it. U read it daily in the news. It's a blasted addiction that to me is being addicted to "sh........." I'm fit and in my 50s. I do things most 20 or 30s do. I cycle, race, run, martial arts etc..... Lungs & everything inside a smokers' body gets the toxics from smoking. smoking speeds aging badly, fatigue, face wrinkles, yellow teeth, and very bad breath. Most often the good looks turn ugly. most smokers I see much younger than myself, are week. End up on wheel chairs or always whine they got one physical problem or another. I tell them QUIT SMOKING! I don't give a damned some days when i see or smell some1 smoking & say something. "Thanks a lot for the second hand smoke!" And lots of them smoke 1st thing in the morning and it's obvious when all U can hear is hacking and coughing cintinuously. Ok, i feel like giving these smokes a slap on the face some days.
